Mediation Guide (ENGLISH VERSION)
I still often get the question, "Hey Nig, I want to start meditating but I don't know where to begin.
" I always ask, "But have you started yet?" to which they often reply, "No. " Then I always say , " Just start.
" We, as people, are often a bit afraid to start something new .
But just start already , especially when it comes to meditating, it's often the "idea" that scares us off, but why?
I will tell you how I started; 7-8 years ago, I was completely overwhelmed, I just didn't know what to do anymore, and I had a coach/therapist named "Naomi" who said to me, "Nigel, just start meditating, " to which I naturally responded, "But how? How do I do that, can I even do it?" Fears and insecurities arose.
Here’s more about what meditation involves:
She said, " Just sit in silence with your eyes closed for 1 minute, " and I thought, the competitive brain wanted to do 2 minutes the next time, then 3, and so on. "That can't be so difficult. " So said, so done.
Until I started to "let go" of time, which involved letting go of thoughts, coming into the moment, and for the first time, it felt like true peace. Since then, I have never let it go, and meditation is now an integral part of my life. This doesn't mean that I steadfastly meditate for a certain number of minutes every day; no, I apply it when I feel it's necessary , and the length of a meditation doesn't matter .
